Assembling the main bench supports (Part I)

By Parker

Drilling Pilot Holes
On Thursday December 3rd 2015 in design technology’s we drilled wood B1, B2, C and F. Frist we gathered all the wood together to make our bench for our courtyard and put them in order.
Putting in Screws
We drilled holes in the wood to put in them. We grab all the wood to glue it (using clamps). Parker glue it all together. We took photos of everyone we took good pics.
Gluing and Hammering Plugs
We are making a bench out of this wood its pitchers turn out good. Jamarion and I drilled holes in the wood with the drilled bit to keep all the wood together.

The work so far
Next Class: We need to attach the other side the same way.

Park Bench - our second class.

This is our second time working on this project. Last time we decided how to make our website, and who would take the pictures. Then we in the workshop we cut up a big piece of wood into long pieces and we smoothed them.

Trimming using the band saw
Today we are we took pictures of the bench we are making in the workshop.

We used a pencil, ruler, measuring tape, try square, hand saw and band saw.

Some pieces were too long for the band saw
We cut pieces A, C, F, and two Bs and two Ds. This is the front rail, back rail, top rail, side rails and cross rails. You can also see these pieces on our plan!

Our Material so far
Next class we need to start to assemble them. The first priority is the main part of the bench.
